Workplace

The Economic Crimes Unit in Umeå combats economic crime in the four northernmost counties. At the Economic Crimes Authority in Umeå, operations are conducted at an economic crimes unit and a police operational unit. The unit in Umeå also has an office in Sundsvall. This position is located in Umeå or Sundsvall.

Job Responsibilities

At the unit, prosecutors, police officers, investigators in areas such as auditing and analysis, and administrators work together. Investigations are conducted in workgroups tailored to the scope and complexity of the case. Together, the different competencies work in teams based on the assignment to effectively investigate and prosecute economic crimes. The prosecutor leads the preliminary investigation from the moment a case is received and a preliminary investigation is initiated until the case is closed.

As a senior prosecutor, you are expected to handle all types of cases and take significant responsibility for the entire unit's operations and results, even outside your own section. As a senior prosecutor, you share your expertise in everyday work and may receive assignments as a mentor and trainer.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

• Is or has been a district prosecutor
• Is confident in the role of prosecutor and has great skill in the various aspects of the profession
• Has the ability to drive complex investigations effectively

In assessing skill, both prosecutorial experience and other experience in qualified legal work relevant to the role of prosecutor will be considered. Furthermore, we will take into account the ability to lead preliminary investigations, litigation, and legal knowledge.

It is advantageous if you also have:

• Experience with cases concerning economic crime, other business-related or property law offenses
• Experience with investigations regarding organized crime
• Experience using covert coercive measures
• Experience with investigations with international connections
• Experience with crime exchange issues and insolvency law
• Good digital competence and the ability to adapt to new programs and systems
